House Republicans, including Reps. Jim Jordan, Jason Smith, and James Comer, have accused Hunter Biden’s legal team of trying to intimidate and harass IRS whistleblowers Gary Shapley and Joseph Ziegler.
These whistleblowers had previously alleged political interference in the federal probe into Hunter Biden. The Republicans’ letter to Attorney General Merrick Garland claims that Biden’s lawyers labeled the whistleblowers as “disgruntled” and pushed the DOJ to prosecute them.
This comes amidst a backdrop of increasing political tension, with House Speaker Kevin McCarthy expected to endorse an impeachment inquiry into President Biden regarding his son’s business dealings.
